Artist Futures Labour Lab (AFL Lab) supports and explores artists’ experiences of work (in its many -paid and unpaid / formal and informal- forms). Using co-design and experimental research, we address small and large problems, seeking out new ways of doing, acting, structuring. Our tests, findings, and actions become resources for everyone to access and get involved with changing things for the better.
We want to facilitate new ways for artists feel less alone and more valued. Places to ask questions of art world injustices and non-senses -and seek new answers.
AFL Lab is set up by artist, designer, researcher, and educator, Libby Scarlett (she/her). She has never been less sure how to survive in this perilous, competitive art world, but doing something different and finding/building community has to be a good start.
We are a Community Interest Company which means any profit we make goes back into projects to benefit the artistic community.
